Three advice firms fail after FSCS receives claims

Three advice firms have failed after the Financial Services Compensation Scheme received claims against them.

Oxford-based Focus Oxford LLP, trading as Focus Independent Financial Advisers and Independent Insurance Consultants, was declared in default yesterday (September 14).

The firm has two claims so far relating to unsuitable pension advice.

In addition to this, Scotland-based Crosbie Carr Morris Limited and Croydon-based Leslie & Swallow LLP - trading as Aston Collie - both failed yesterday.

Crosbie Carr Morris had a total of three claims so far while Leslie & Swallow had two, all of which were related to unsuitable pension advice.

The FSCS said there is no indication of British Steel Pension Scheme related claims for any of the firms.
