Thomas Miller Investments' chief backs smart beta ETFs

"If a professional investor wants exposure to a market such as the S&P 500, they might want it to be cheap, which an ETF does., but the problem with traditional passive products is they give exposure to all of a market, the cheap bits and the expensive bits. The new products coming onto the market are a useful tool as they can offer something different."
