SimplyBiz is launching ‘MyLearning Academy’, an online learning portal to enhance the qualifications of its advisers developed in partnership with Competent Adviser.
The academy, which is available from today (February 21) for all SimplyBiz member firms, offers support on a range of qualifications from Cemap 1 to AF5.
The firm said it is designed to create a bespoke learning journey for users, whether they are a new starter or an experienced adviser training in a specialist area.
It also supports a range of qualifications from institutions including the London Institute of Banking & Finance and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Marc Thompson, director of adviser Services at SimplyBiz, said: “As a result of the increasing value of advice, our members have told us that client growth is their number one priority for 2024.
“We believe that the introduction of the MyLearning Academy will prove invaluable to firms who want to both train the next generation of advisers and increase the number of clients they are able to see.”
Fintel, the parent company of SimplyBiz, bought Competent Adviser via Fintel IQ, a newly formed technology and knowledge platform, back in July 2023.
At the same time, the firm announced the purchase of Micap by subsidiary business Defaqto, which provides independent research and advice tools for tax advantaged investment products.
Competent Adviser is a platform which helps advisers meet regulatory requirements.
The firm said MyLearning Academy was built upon the foundations of Competent Adviser's online study support programme, which saw over 90 per cent of students achieve qualifications on their first attempt.
Courses are broken down into 'bite-sized' chunks, with each module consisting of reading assignments and test assignments to assess understanding.
Thompson said: “Competent Adviser is renowned as a market-leading provider of online study support for advisers, and is the perfect partner to help us bring the MyLearning Academy to SimplyBiz members.”
