Ultimately, the choice of multi-asset fund will depend on the basic asset allocation and whether investors want income, capital growth or simple diversification.
“They can provide an all-in-one solution which, if investors have made a sensible initial decision, should at least stop them going too far wrong,” says Mr Connolly.
